We may be a small community, but we live in a spectacular area In the early days, the waterfront was the hub of the town. Paddle wheelers went up the lake, and barges moved rail cars from one end to the other. The lower part was called Summerland and the upper part West Summerland, with two different post offices. Now, the whole town is Summerland.

CELEBRATING EARTH DAY!
"WE DO NOT INHERIT THE EARTH FROM OUR ANCESTORS, WE BORROW IT FROM OUR CHILDREN." -----NATIVE AMERICAN PROVERB----- We should be celebrating Earth Day, every day! We have so much good to celebrate....but if we do not look after our world we will no longer be here. We celebrate Earth Week, in our Community. It has become an event and people host many activities, and also do projects in our natural habitat areas.
